This includes performing technical and clerical tasks related to medication distribution in the hospital. These functions include, but are not limited to: medication distribution, inventory control, documentation, and preparation of unit dose medications and compounded medications, in accordance with National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) standards, and Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) by-laws, standards, and regulations. The Pharmacy Technician Intern will use their knowledge to collaborate with Clinical Pharmacists and other health care professionals to provide and support patient care. The Pharmacy Technician Intern will adhere to all relevant legislated and regulatory requirements. The Pharmacy Technician Intern may have to work at different sites, as assigned. What you bring to the role: • Completion of a recognized CCAPP-accredited pharmacy technician education program or equivalent • Current and actively maintained licensure and registration as a Pharmacy Technician Intern in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) • 1 or more years of hospital pharmacy or relevant experience an asset • Proof of continuing education participation, or demonstrate professional development • Compounding experience and unit dose dispensing an asset • Familiarity with using computers, common software applications (i.e. MS Office etc.) and pharmacy automation equipment • Work experience in electronic health record environments an asset (e.g., Meditech) • Ability to maintain professionalism and adaptability in challenging and dynamic environment • Ability to lift light to moderate loads • Superior interpersonal, communication and organizational skills • Excellent work and attendance record required Work Schedule: The successful candidate will be available to work 8 hour day and evening shifts, rotating through Monday to Sunday.
