Key Account Manager - Western Canada
Join us for a growing opportunity as a KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER - This remote position in Western Canada is responsible for sales of major technical products and services, generating new business opportunities, develop long-term customer relationships, implement strategic plans, and meet key objectives set by management.
Responsibilities:
Understand key customer strategies, manage key account plans, and develop relationships with key contacts. Collects and maintains information on the requirements, organization, budget and preferences of current and potential customers.
Establish / maintain customer confidence at high levels and develops positive customer relationships to promote and secure long-term agreements.
Achieve regional / global sales goals and targets. Assist other key account managers in the achievement of team goals.
Manage pricing, negotiations and contracts for materials, equipment flow business and high-end systems.
Provide profitable and strategic solutions to customer problems. Recognize and introduce new applications and products to the market.
Effectively regain market share through product and industry knowledge.
Coordinate customer relationships between internal and external teams: Application Development, Systems Engineering, Application Support, Product Line Managers, Finance, and Customer Service.
Effectively prepare and deliver sales presentations.
Participates in goal setting and preparation of sales forecasts and budgets.
Collects and shares competitive intelligence and identifies weaknesses that may lead to product improvements and application development.
Assists A/R when necessary to interface with the customer and collect past due amounts
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
10 Years Sales and key account management experience. Experience in related thermal spray industries strongly preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Good selling and negotiating skills
Able to travel and manage a sizable territory
Technical sales and knowledge relating to materials, coatings and equipment. Experience with thermal spray applications strongly preferred.
Basic computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, Salesforce, SOIP forecasting)
Excellent communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to work in a team oriented organization
