Your Opportunity
As an Urban Planner within Community Development, you will focus on technical and design components of the planning profession. You will have the opportunity to work on projects in the private and public sectors such as redevelopment and site plans, new community and town center plans, streetscape and infrastructure projects. The role spans a broad range of disciplines and would suit an individual with a design background in urban design and city-building. Your focus in this role will be ensuring consistent and high-quality deliverables, tracking and maintaining large, complex design project files and bringing your subject matter expertise to inform and offer value to our clients. While part of this larger team, your work will primarily be based within a collaborative planning and design team serving our Southwestern Ontario market with an office in London, Ontario.
Your Key Responsibilities
Preparation of plans, supporting figures, and graphics using AutoCAD and other design software.
Developing conceptual design materials, including sketches, site plans, subdivision plans, 3D massing models and realistic renderings.
Assisting in preparing report figures, graphics, and exhibits for planning reports, urban design briefs, presentations, and tribunal hearings.
Data and file management, statistical analysis, and other technical support tasks.
Researching and compiling information on a variety of planning issues.
Communicating and collaborating with other multi-disciplinary team members on relevant aspects municipal policy projects from an urban design and project administrative perspective.
Demonstrate active coaching skills when interacting with other team members.
