Pay Range (Annual): $133,000.00 - $247,000.00 At Infinera, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. Your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for equity grants, discretionary bonuses, or commission payments. The Principal Analog Hardware Design Engineer will lead the development of cutting-edge electro-optical products. This role encompasses responsibility for the architecture, design, testing, validation, and manufacturing of advanced systems, including evaluation platforms and integrated circuit packages. Key responsibilities also include contributing to the development of the technology roadmap, assessing emerging technology enablers, and driving innovation in product performance and manufacturability. You will a key member of a dynamic team developing leading-edge telecom products. Responsibilities Architect advanced pluggable optical modules and complex mixed signal solutions. Lead conceptual work, product specification, component selection and evaluation, detailed design, prototyping, hardware bring-up and verification Perform board development including circuit design, schematic capture and driving PCB placement and layout Develop and maintain documentation such as design specifications, test plans and reports Collaborate with FPGA, ASIC, system, optical, mechanical designers throughout design and integration Work closely with firmware and software developers to define bring-up and debug requirements Develop and execute integration and verification to ensure compliance to requirements Develop test methods as required Define production test and provide manufacturing support as required Act as technical lead and provide technical mentorship Requirements MS/BSEE and minimum of 10+ years of experience in board level hardware design including in-depth focus on analog circuitry Experience with PCB schematics and layout. Knowledge of Cadence Concept is not essential but considered a plus. Experience performing feasibility studies during architecture phase to support component selection Strong debugging and lab skills, including test development and detailed verification Experience in design and measurement of very low noise analog circuits including op-amps, ADCs and DACs Experience in clock and PLL design, analysis and characterization (phase noise, jitter, termination, distribution) Experience in design of broadband interfaces and interconnections Experience in signal/power integrity modeling, using tools such as Cadence Sigrity Experience in 3D EM modeling using tools such as Ansys HFSS desired Experience with implementation of on-board power converters, dc-dc step-up, buck and low-noise regulators High current, low voltage, power sequencing design and debug experience Knowledge of optical components (Lasers, VOAs, MPDs) is a plus Experience with E/O and RF test equipment Knowledge of PCB fabrication, fab & assembly design rules, product integration with mechanical components RF circuit design experience a definite asset Experience in noise simulation and filtering of analog driver and monitor circuit considered a plus Experience in measuring and analyzing analog signal and noise in time and frequency domain considered a plus Experience with low noise sensitive layout design in a high current, high switching noisy environment considered a plus Good writing and communication skills Good team player with strong attention to detail, organizational skills and demonstrated problem solving abilities #LI-JP1 “This position requires direct or indirect access to certain confidential information, hardware, software, technology, or technical information (referred to here as “Export-Controlled Information”) controlled under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
