Job Number: JR103558 Job Title: Senior Technical Specialist, Applications - EO Department: EO ENHANCE Ontario - Acc Rev-Rep Job Category: Professional Hospital Location: EO Head Office Job Type: Permanent, Full time Contract Duration: 20 months Number of Positions: 1 Hours: Days Enabling Healthcare Across Networks of Central East (ENHANCE) Ontario (also referred to here as “EO”) is a not-for-profit corporate entity which will provide centralized IT services to its seven (7) member hospitals (Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Lakeridge health, Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital, and Scarborough Health Network) to manage and operate a set of shared digital assets. This will enable its 7 member hospitals across 14 sites to deliver high quality and safe patient care using the shared Epic Clinical Information System (“CIS”) to over 1.5 million patients residing in both rural and urban communities located in the Central East region of Ontario. Job Description: Position Overview: Sr. Technical Specialist is responsible for building and testing both front-end and back-end reporting/analytics content in Epic. Responsibilities: • Managing the entire process of building reporting content from requirements gathering to testing and implementation • Configuring and testing Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications, including: • Reporting Workbench • SlicerDicer data models • Radar dashboards • Cogito SQL • Building new reporting content (Workbench reports, Radar Dashboards, SQL Metrics, Cogito SQL reports, SlicerDicer sessions) using Epic’s reporting and analytics tools (Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer) • Building reports/extracts (in SQL) using Epic’s Reporting databases (Clarity and Caboodle) • Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics • Automation of SQL reports using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (MS SSIS) • Administration of Radar, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer • Working closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end-users to gather the requirements and analyze the needs of data consumers • Testing of reporting content • Troubleshooting problems and questions • Providing support to end users • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with the Cogito project manager Requirements: • Certification in at least one Epic data model • Experience using Epic’s reporting tools and reporting databases • Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure • Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts • Proficiency and demonstrated experience with analytics tools • Ability to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environment • A degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and stakeholders • Critical thinking and an analytical mind • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders • The ability and willingness to learn new software, systems and processes • Highly reliable, able to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles and work under time pressures • Ability to engage stakeholders in workflow redesign, providing application-specific lens Accommodation and Diversity Statement: Scarborough Health Network (SHN) embraces and celebrates our community’s unique multicultural heritage and diversity.
