Key Responsibilities: Gather spatial data from a variety of sources including field surveys, satellite imagery, aerial photography, existing databases or paper maps supporting forestry field operations and timber development. Digitize and georeference paper maps Ability to create professional maps with symbology, labels, and legends. Customize maps for different audiences (e.g., planners, engineers, public). Edit, clean, and format data to ensure consistency. Work with data and maps hosted on ArcGIS Online. Check for errors in data or maps. Ensure data accuracy and adherence to standards. Other duties as required. Knowledge and Skills Expectations: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems. Experience in Forestry, in a school or work setting. Advanced knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS products, spatial datasets and GIS. Experience with any combination of Python, VB, Arcade, QGIS, Phoenix Connect, and ArcGIS Enterprise and Field Maps would be considered an asset. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive) in a cloud-based environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment. Compliance with Federal, provincial, and local safety regulations. Must maintain a high level of technical knowledge.
