The opportunity:
As a Manager, Global Operations you will work directly with Flexport’s end customers to help them achieve their logistics goals. Within your region you will manage a team of operators and partner with: our sales and customs teams, subcontractors, carriers, terminals and trucking providers to ensure a positive customer experience. Most importantly, you will play a pivotal role in building the next operational model at Flexport: allowing us to effectively scale to achieve our mission of making global trade easier for everyone.
In this role you will not only manage a team of operators, but also be responsible for managing an overall book of business. You will largely be the main point of contact for your customer base, running MBRs and QBRs and ensuring best in class customer experience while also working to find opportunities to grow your partnership with these customers.

You will:
Be responsible to build, lead and manage operators delivering high performance and operational excellence that delights our customers
Manage a book of business with a variety of client types and seek opportunities to proactively grow the business through increased adoption and product expansion.
Oversee and manage Partners and Vendors appointed to execute end to end transactions and a selection of services, accounting for costs and services
Ensure that we comply to internal and external requirements to maintain a high bar in safety, security and overall compliance
Work with Product, Sales, Customs and other internal teams to develop, implement and manage new services/sunset sub-optimal services
Manage the budget, ensuring that we grow responsibly and work towards lowering costs and improving operator effectiveness
Maintain and exceed performance metric goals to improve quality of service, productivity and profitability targets
Take pride in developing and deploying continuous improvement and new product innovations within operations and share with counterparts in other regions
Develop and lead regular business cadences with customers and internal teams such as weekly and monthly business reviews or forecasting and annual planning cycles
You should have:
2+ years experience in people management
Business/Masters degree in Supply Chain, Business or Finance or equivalent experience
Proven track record in continuous improvement projects and large scale implementations
5+ years experience in supply chain, logistics, freight forwarding or related fields
2+ years in customer facing roles
Previous experience in successfully developing/deploying community employment programs
Qualified in lean principles, six sigma or equivalent
Experience in data analytics and tools such as Looker or equivalent
Proficiency in speaking and writing English
Nice to have:
Proficiency in speaking and writing French

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
The Canada base salary range for this position (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits):
$127,762—$159,703 CAD
