Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of the Hope & Healing Program, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the office operations and provides confidential administrative support. Responsibilities include office, financial and record management systems, payroll; assisting with receiving patients, families and visitors, scheduling appointments; arranging onboarding of new staff, meetings and staff travel; minute taking and preparation; assisting in preparation of grant applications and reporting; assisting coordination and organization of special projects and workshops. Acts as primary assistant to the Manager and Director for the Hope & Healing Program and the Psychosocial Oncology program. Interacts with senior personnel in CCMB and external organizations throughout Manitoba and Canada.

Education and Experience
Post-secondary diploma/certificate in administration
Minimum three years of administrative experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple, competing priorities.
Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge and understanding of general office operations and functions
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Experience monitoring financial budget and statements
Ability to coordinate and work with a multidisciplinary team
Experience with handling multiple projects
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Strong organizational, prioritization skills, and attention to detail.
Experience scheduling and coordinating meetings and travel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience maintaining spreadsheets and databased
Excellent keyboarding skills of 65WPM
Experience and understanding of how to respond to emotionally charged situations with patients and families.
Strong relationship building skills
Ability to respond to patients, families and clients in a respectful, sensitive and compassionate manner.
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
