This is a temporary position that runs from April 1st – August 31st providing support for the mechanical shutdowns in the area with maintenance work in-between. The maintenance shift is 4x10 Monday – Thursday. The turnaround work shift is 6 days on 1 day off or 12 days on 2 days off, working 12 hour shifts, both day and night shifts required.What we offer:6x1 or 12x2 shift, working 12 hour days during turnaround4x10 shift, working 10 hour days between turnaround events supporting maintenance and shop scopesAccommodations provided while working in the Fort McMurray areaSkill development and opportunity for career growthKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvision of risk management support to the required companies to achieve a common HSE programProvide leadership for implementing and maintaining HSE programs/systems throughout CEDA (Hazard ID, BBS, Site Reviews, Training etc.)Liaison with clients, third parties, HSE and other internal clients (e.g. Learning and Development, Business Development and other Companies within CEDA) with the provision of presentations to increase awareness of progress on HSE mattersEnsuring accident and incident investigations are conducted and events are reported in a timely mannerResponsible for the maintenance and development of HSE documentationAuditing and monitoring as required in accordance with CEDA’s and our customers’ expectationsSupport site, shop and project safety meetings by providing relevant information for use during the meeting and actively participating throughoutIdentify HSE coaching opportunities throughout the organization, offer yourself as a HSE mentor and actively participate in improving CEDA’s cultureRole Specifications3 - 5 years + HSE experience, or HSE diploma/certificateCertified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is an assetOperational field experience in upstream or downstream oil industry an assetTrade experience is an assetTurnaround work experience is an assetYour working knowledge of related legislation and the ability to interpret the regulations and laws is an assetProficient in Microsoft suite of programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)Valid Class G licence with a clean abstractWillingness and ability to travelSkillsStrong leadership skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organization, prioritization, skills with a high attention to detailAbility to work with limited supervision, in a team environmentYou have the capacity to problem solve and thrive in high pressure situationsAbility to influence staff at various levels to promote loss preventionAdditional InformationThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
