Salary: Level 6 Step 1 ($3,089.25 bi-weekly)

Reporting to the Hän Language Administrator, the incumbent promotes and advances Hän language and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in cultural education by delivering age-appropriate, culturally grounded programming and lessons for children aged 2–5. The incumbent ensures opportunities for parent and family participation, maintains a scheduled presence at Tr’inke Zho and at Ni'eh?yat, Nidähjì’, and carries out a range of daily operational duties including activity reporting and administrative tasks related to early years language and culture.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent), with a certificate or diploma in education, human services, social work, psychology, justice or related field, and a minimum of one year of work experience; an equivalent combination of education, knowledge and experience may be considered.
Knowledge and understanding of Hän language or willingness to learn.
Knowledge and understanding of TH culture and values.
Experience developing, organizing and delivering programs.
Proficiency in SharePoint, Microsoft 365 and videoconferencing technologies.
Knowledge of TH Government structures, culture, traditions, history, demographics, family structures and the intergenerational impact of Residential Schools on individuals, families and communities.
Ability to work as a team member and to participate in community events, functions and initiatives.
Ability to connect and collaborate with other TH employees, Elders, language specialists and learners.
Assets:
Experience working in a preschool or early learning environment is an asset.
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
Conditions of Employment:

Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with clear driver’s abstract.
TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
