ETF Software Engineering & Development - Officer Job Description Who we are looking for State Street considers all disciplines when seeking candidates. We are looking for a user facing role as Software Engineer / Developer who desire to work within a collaborative, team-driven environment on business demand analysis and solution design with global teams from brainstorming, prototyping, development, testing to implementation. This role requires solid financial knowledge, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and good time management. This role is based in North America east coast area and will work with State Street client and business users from all regions. What you will be responsible for As a Software Engineer / Developer, you will Design and build robust processes utilizing your core development skills Design and develop new functionality, enhance existing features, troubleshoot and tune end-to-end processes Design, develop and optimize complex PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers and packages Participate in Agile methodologies including sprint planning and retrospectives Provide production support escalation coverage and troubleshoot live issues Analyze performance issues and implement tuning strategies Conduct code reviews and adhere to coding standards Work with internal business users to gather and understand user demands. Document, review and evaluate existing business models and recommend future processes or technical solutions. Identify, solve or escalate potential issues and risks during development lifecycles Collaborate with other roles/teams to deliver consistent and timely results with high quality Establish and maintain strong network relationships with counterparties What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role A detail-oriented developer who works well, independently and as part of an Agile / Scrum team Experience in developing and maintaining large-scale applications, preferable in the financial services industry Excellent technical skills with a focus on Oracle PL/SQL Good written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with Oracle development tools including TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Plus, etc. Experience using GIT version control toolset Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills Strong presentation and interpersonal skills Team player Jira and other Agile tools experience Microsoft Office software skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio) Education & Preferred Qualifications Degree in Computer Science or related technical field 7+ year’s of hands on development experience with Oracle PL/SQL Experience in projects/agile rooms, in the financial service or data research industry Proven skills in documenting and maintaining project artifacts Ability to understand processes / workflows and the application of technology Expert understanding of the software development lifecycle (example – Agile development) Fluent verbal & written English communication and strong interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Team player; detail oriented and self-motivated to drive work to proceed with minimal supervision Multiple tasking ability.
