Job Description: The Registered Nurse will function in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Responsibilities include education and preparation of clients (Pediatric and Adult) undergoing a variety of Medical Imaging procedures. The RN will assist the Radiologist/Specialist during procedures and perform direct nursing assessment and care as appropriate to ensure the safety of clients undergoing procedures. The RN will prepare for and respond to fluctuating workloads, unexpected critical situations, and the requirement to work in all modalities of Medical Imaging. The RN will collaborate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to continually evaluate the clients care and condition while in the Medical Imaging Departments.

Experience
1 year recent experience: CCU, Medical Imaging, Operating Room and/or IR.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
Nursing diploma is acceptable
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
Critical Care Nursing certificate (CCN)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)

In depth knowledge of pharmacology & client reactions to procedural sedation
Ability to assess client responses during MI and IR procedures

Skilled with cardiac monitoring equipment & related medications for imaging
In depth knowledge of pharmacology & client reactions to Intravenous contrast
Skilled in clinical techniques/use of equipment & supplies in IR setting
In depth knowledge of pharmacology & client reactions to anesthesia
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Regulations
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Other Information
Critical Care Certification or equivalent in Interventional Radiology an asset
Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
