Comprised of an accomplished team of strategic-minded specialists, the office serves as a hub between departments and the University’s central financial portfolios, provides support, guidance and training to departments on financial matters, and oversees revenue sharing distributions.As Senior Financial and Operations Analyst, you will support a broad complement of financial management activities, including financial modeling, analysis, and reporting. You will have a critical eye on policies, procedures, and practices, to help inform strategic planning and decision making. You will additionally serve as the first point of contact for all central operational requests, including but not limited to, telecommunications, security access and vendor management. Your versatility, ability to work independently and as part of a highly cohesive team will allow you take on new projects to ensure and promote optimal function of our office.Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the financial management of budgets, including strategic planning, forecasting and analysis
Interpreting policies in decision-making and providing significant input into local policies, procedures and practices that are referred to in future interpretation questions
Planning and overseeing short- and long-range activities that support financial administration
Performing complex financial data modeling and analysis, including analyzing and producing complex statistical reports and/or financial information for management decision-making
Forecasting and planning financial activities incorporating budgets with multiple sources of revenue and/or recoveries
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and completion of a recognized accounting program (CPA), or an acceptable equivalent combinationof education and experience
Minimum 5 years' related financial experience in modeling, analysis, and financial reporting, in a University, or similar public sector environment
Demonstrated experience managing budgets and strategic planning
Experience processing payroll transactions, including faculty appointments
Experience processing financial transactions
Procurement experience required, including reviewing competitive procurement process
Experience working with spreadsheets, analyzing financial data and statistics and producing complex reports
Experience in bringing innovative solutions and processes to create efficiencies in financial management
Experience liaising with vendors and coordinating operational requests, including telecommunications and security access
Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including expert knowledge of MS Excel and Financial Information System (FIS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of accounting principles
Strong written and oral communication skills
Highly attentive to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated ability to organize and execute complex projects and manage conflicting priorities within established timelines
Ability to work independently as well as a collaborative team member in a multistakeholder environment
Strong client service orientation
Ability to exercise sound judgment, respectmatters of a sensitive nature and maintain confidentiality
Assets (Nonessential):
Experience dealing with Medicine Professional Corporation (MPC), including HST treatment

USW Pay Band 17 -- $107,820. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $137,883. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
