Assembler - Rework and Repair As a contributing member of the Failure Analysis and Repair team, our Repair Hub Specialists will apply a systematic approach and expert skill level to complete rework and repair processes in the manufacturing and servicing of Curtiss-Wright products. Location: Ottawa, ON Your Challenge: Operate rework and repair equipment to meet Class 3 standards, while maintaining product quality. Apply IPC-7711/IPC-7721 repair methods at an expert skill level, e.g. track and pad repair and modification, PCB laminate repair; and microvia repair. Support new product development and validation by completing complex repair for engineering cards. Support rework and repair of customer returns and product test cards. Provide guidance team members and to production soldering team. Perform mechanical disassembly and coating removal and touch up. Demonstrate manual dexterity combined with mechanical aptitude and the ability to read/understand mechanical assembly drawings. Ability to work with instructions for setting up and maintaining test infrastructure. Identify non-conforming products and components. Confirm all equipment are calibrated. Apply analytical skills in order to achieve quality workmanship and internal targets (OTD, TAT, etc.). Feedback issues to team members, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or other departments as required. Provide recommendations for process improvements. Complete all logs, reports and data gathering in accordance with established procedures. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment and complete company-wide trainings as required. What You Bring: Technician Diploma or grade 12 with equivalent education and work experience including a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/IPC-7721 & J-STD-001 Class 3 standards. Experience reworking SMT and PTH components including fine pitch QFPs, QFNs, DFNs, BGAs, etc. with both tin-lead and lead-free solder; and press fit connector rework. Experience with AR, UR and XY coatings, adhesives and underfills. Experience with BGA and leadless component removal and replacement. Experience reviewing and applying ECOs. Good working knowledge of SAP or equivalent and Microsoft Office. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
