Job Summary:
Reporting to the Construction Executive, the Finishing Superintendent will play a critical role in overseeing the final stages of construction projects in Madoc. This includes ensuring high-quality finishes, timely project completion, and adherence to all safety and building regulations. You’ll lead on-site operations, coordinate with subcontractors, resolve logistical and technical challenges, and deliver results that exceed client expectations.

Hours of Operations: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Lead daily on-site operations, including scheduling, logistics, and workflow planning.
· Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
· Maintain clear, open communication with clients, site personnel, and senior management.
· Conduct deficiency walkthroughs, document defects, and coordinate timely correction with trades.
· Oversee all finishing aspects of projects through to final handover.
· Perform hands-on minor defect correction where needed.
· Coordinate and manage sub-trades to ensure quality work, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.
· Generate reports on project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
· Maintain compliance with all OH&S, building codes, and environmental standards.
· Manage environmental controls including stormwater outfalls and dust suppression.
· Ensure the projects meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
· Collaborate with sales and process teams to ensure alignment with project specifications.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives and foster team development.
· Support capital projects and assist with maintenance prioritization and planning.
· Provide leadership and support for capital projects.
Our ideal candidate:
· 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or Finishing role, specifically within residential construction.
· Expertise in finishing disciplines (millwork, drywall, flooring, paint, etc.).
· Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code, construction safety standards, and project lifecycle.
· Experience managing mass timber or similar construction projects is an asset.
· Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams and subcontractors effectively.
· Familiarity with construction technology including Procore, MS Project, and other cloud-based platforms.
· Effective communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
· Proven ability to anticipate issues and implement innovative solutions.
· Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and general construction document control systems.
· Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or related field is an asset.
· Trade certifications and/or Foreman experience are considered assets.
