The successful candidate for the Quality Assurance Painting Inspector will be responsible for inspecting all blast and paint operations on bridges. This position is responsible for ensuring the contractor conducts all blasting and painting operations in accordance with contract requirements and specifications.
Complete in-process and final visual inspections of all blasting and coating operations to ensure compliance on surface preparation and coating as per standard.
Perform testing on surface profile, salt content, coating thickness, adhesion.
Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and serviceable.
Ensure the contractor’s materials are stored and handled according to manufacturer’s requirements.
Generate and maintain quality records in support of the inspection and test plan.
Read and interpret production drawings and specifications to identify quality requirements.
Document non-conformances in the NCR database and complete root cause analysis.
