The Role
Addepar Design shapes wealth managers’ digital experiences. By designing and delivering intuitive, easy-to-use products, we help wealth managers grow their businesses and provide best-in-class services to their clients. In this role, you'll shape the future of help and training at Addepar, reimagining how clients and employees learn about our products and services. You'll play a pivotal role in creating a seamless onboarding experience where every new user feels immediately welcome, quickly finds their footing, and rapidly grows into a confident expert. You'll define and drive the instructional strategy for complex learning projects. This includes designing course architecture, introducing a certification program, and maximizing content reusability across our learning ecosystem.
You'll work with Product, Support, and Services teams to create and refine curriculum scope, learning objectives, and delivery modes. You'll research, design, and evaluate learning content using the most efficient and effective instructional design methodologies. Along the way, following Addepar's pedagogical and brand guidelines.
Our Help Center is in an exciting growth stage, undergoing a redesign and scaling up to support Addepar’s multi-product platform. Our ideal candidate is a highly experienced instructional designer with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of adult learning principles. You are a proactive problem-solver and thought partner, eager to join our team and roll up your sleeves to do great work.
You’ll report to the Content Design Manager for the Help Center.
What You’ll Do
Define the instructional strategy and design comprehensive learning paths, courses, and interactive training modules
Develop a deep understanding of user learning needs, product complexities, and onboarding challenges
Proactively identify and champion innovative solutions for best-in-class learning experiences
Act as the primary instructional design liaison and strategic partner for cross-functional teams
Facilitate and lead highly productive working sessions and content reviews
Mentor and guide technical writers and content creators on instructional design concepts, considerations, best practices, and trends
Establish and refine guidelines for instructional design and related workflows
Spearhead audits and optimization initiatives for learning content to ensure tight processes
Analyze user engagement and feedback to inform instructional strategy
Strategize and implement improvements for learning content organization and curriculum architecture to optimize learner pathways and knowledge retention
Champion the evolution of Addepar's self-guided learning experience
Who You Are
4+ years of instructional design experience
An inspiring portfolio that showcases your strategic approach to designing engaging and effective learning experiences. Must include samples of course design, learning modules, and interactive content
Fantastic writing (American English), editing, and proofreading skills
Adept at leveraging AI tools and techniques to optimize content creation, improve learning effectiveness, and deliver unparalleled user experiences
Deep understanding and practical application of adult learning theories, instructional design models, and assessment methodologies
Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools, Learning Management Systems (LMSs), and content management systems
Proficient using design systems and editorial style guides
Familiar with Figma, Zendesk, Confluence, and Jira
Experience working with or in a customer support organization is a huge plus
Able to work independently, communicating across multiple time zones
