PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Dive into the dynamic intersection of public safety and rail operations with the CPKC Police Service (CPKC PS). As an intern, you won't just analyze data – you'll uncover insights that directly influence law enforcement strategies, protect critical rail infrastructure, and contribute to safer communities. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Extract, interpret, and synthesize information from diverse sources to deliver impactful insights, actionable recommendations, and high-level reports tailored for CPKC PS senior management
Monitor and analyze the pulse of emerging threats – from criminal activity to evolving technological risks – ensuring the safety of CPKC operations, personnel, and assets
Review call-for-service data regularly to identify patterns and trends, empowering leadership to deploy front-line members effectively and maintain a proactive public safety approach
Transform complex findings into compelling, easy-to-understand visuals and reports using tools like Power BI, ensuring strategic decisions are backed by data-driven clarity
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate in post-secondary education in topics such as criminology, political science, social sciences, or journalism with a preference for past relevant experience
Project work or experience researching completing and presenting qualitative reports including data cleansing preferably using Power BI

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
