Job Type: Permanent Department: Hourly Wage: $31.01 Close Date (closes at 12:00 am on date noted below): January 1, 2026 Openings: 20 Position Summary The Town of Milton Community Services Department is currently accepting applications for the part-time seasonal positions of Aquatic Leadership Conductor to provide quality leadership training within the guidelines of a comprehensive aquatic program at Town operated pools. Major Job Responsibilities Plan, organize and deliver high quality, safe and motivating leadership courses that appeal to a variety of preferred learning styles Prepare lesson plans that adapt to all variables and conditions (including room and pool time, space availability, variable learning styles and teaching methods, availability of equipment, etc.) Evaluate and record skill performance and progress of participants using the continuous evaluation approach throughout each program Supervise participants and maintain complete vigilance to minimize risks and be ready to respond at all times Responsible for maintaining organized records of class attendance and progressions of students; records should be readily available for the Recreation, Coordinator, if necessary Provide clear written feedback to all unsuccessful candidates with the reasons as to why they were unsuccessful that comply with award guidelines Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to candidates Complete all evaluations in accordance with current Lifesaving Society standards. Enforce the pool rules through communication with participants as required; educate participants about safe behaviour at the pool and during lessons Follow policies and procedures as outlined in the staff manual in all decision making, program planning and public relations Establish positive relationships and work cooperatively with staff and participants in maintaining a high level of morale and ensuring clear communication Report all minor and major accidents, problems, disturbances, incidents and site damage to your supervisor, ensuring all appropriate forms are filled out accurately and completely Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, Health & Safety Standards, Ontario Health Regulation 565, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with department objectives Education & Experience Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification Current Lifesaving Instructor certification Current Standard First Aid certification Current Instructor Status applicable to course being taught (National Lifeguard Instructor, Lifesaving/Swim Instructor Trainer, Standard First Aid Trainer) High Five Trainer or High Five Aquatic PHCD Trainer certification (required to teach Swim Instructor courses) Current Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Screening required as a condition of employment Two (2) years’ working in an Aquatic environment as a Lifeguard and Aquatic Instructor One (1) year experience with conducting Bronze programs One (1) year experience with examining Bronze programs Experience working with persons with exceptionalities is considered an asset Interested applicants should apply online at www.milton.ca under the Employment Opportunities section.
