Hiring Unit: Department of Pathology Position Summary: The Department of Pathology is seeking a highly organized and proactive Office Assistant to provide part-time administrative support (3 days per week) to the Department Chair and broader departmental initiatives. This role is essential in coordinating academic and departmental events, managing communications, and supporting various operational tasks. Duties and responsibilities include: Coordinate and schedule scientific lecture series and departmental events, including Research Day. Provide administrative support for departmental initiatives and committees, including scheduling meetings and taking minutes. Manage departmental purchasing and maintain records of transactions. Monitor and respond to inquiries via the department’s general communication email. Manage the Department Website Draft reports (annual reports etc.) Assist in the creation and distribution of the department newsletter. Support day-to-day operations and special projects as assigned by the Chair. Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities Proven administrative or office support experience, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and email/calendar tools. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities. Knowledge of Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences policies would be an asset.
