To learn more about who we are visit our website: www.teranet.ca About the Role Teranet is currently looking for a User Experience & User Interface (UI/UX) Designer with a strong background in creating engaging user experiences. To be a great fit, you will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be creative and possess the ability to think outside the box to make decisions based on research findings. You will also have outstanding collaboration abilities as you would be working very closely with Product Managers, government partners and Business Analysts/Product Owners, to create and govern the user interface and experience of our applications. You will collaborate with all teams (Product, Development, and Quality Assurance) throughout the entire lifecycle of design and development process. A strong portfolio demonstrating some of your recent successes including work samples that shows your process and a high attention to detail is a must. What You’ll Be Doing Leverage varying research methods including but not limited to in-person and remote ethnography, user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to help define and execute product strategy Facilitate ideation sessions, design sprints to engage partners, clients, and various stakeholders in creating user-centric products and processes. Provide detailed high-quality reporting on product user experience, pre and post project start/promotion Leverage research and data to design high-quality wireframes, personas, iterative prototypes, and AODA- compliant mockups based on user needs and incorporate user feedback from various stages of testing. Work closely with business, product, and technology partners to design products with highest quality user experience based on user needs and implementation feedback Create a unified end-to-end experience through proactive close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, building alignment and articulating design vision through strong storytelling and presentation skills Leverage user testing plans and scripts to support required research. Effectively document, present and communicate research and design insights with recommendations that Informs design decisions to leadership and stakeholders. Maintain high quality, consistent design standards by creating and keeping the living style guide up to date whilst adhering to brand specifications. Ensure that all design work is produced to the highest standard in terms of content layout, visual appearance, usability, and user experience/user interface best practices Ensure that all deliverables are provided on time, in line with specifications of the project plan and as coordinated with team leadership and key project stakeholders. Review all features implemented to ensure compelling user experience as proposed. Participate in Agile events, including daily scrums, sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives. Contribute to the growth of Service Design practices at Teranet by actively participating in a collaborative, supportive, challenging, and innovative environment, proactively offering well-thought-out ideas and solutions to existing problems Always demonstrate professionalism and be a great ambassador of the Design Team with all stakeholders. About You Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in User Experience, Interaction, and Interface design Excellent communication (written and oral), presentation and interpersonal skills Must be an enthusiastic collaborator and open to feedback Must have a good Knowledge of Design thinking methodologies and techniques Highly proficient in creating and presenting UIUX artifacts including user journeys, low-high fidelity renderings, clickable iterative prototypes, etc., to leadership, stakeholders, and partners. Highly proficient with design tools (Adobe Xd, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) Must have a proficient knowledge of inclusive design principles and updated WCAG guidelines as stipulated in AODA. Must be able to assess business requirement, technical constraints, and research data, translating it into user-centric design systems. Must have a design portfolio that showcases proficient design skills, user centric thinking and problem solving. Good understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and modern front-end interface possibilities Ability to understand and design for multi-tier applications versus websites Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative and cross-functional agile team (proficient knowledge of collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence, a plus) Ability to effectively prioritize and pivot in response to evolving business needs and constraint Must be able to efficiently manage or work on multiple projects/assignments at the same time Why Teranet We may be a global innovator in electronic services and solutions who operate one of the most advanced and secure registration systems in the world, but we’re so much more than that!
