Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? To provide the level of expertise required to implement, support and maintain all services under the mandate of the Production Mainframe Services team, and to strive for the highest possible productions systems availability in support of our dependent clients and businesses. What will you do? Plan and execute weekend maintenance to provide minimal disruption to the production environment Follow established Service Now guidelines for implementing change into the Production environment Provide the necessary support to ensure the highest level of service for all online systems Responsible for ensuring day to day problems of a technical nature within the mainframe systems are dealt with quickly and efficiently or otherwise escalated to the appropriate areas within Technology and Operations Responsible for following up on all outstanding problems to reduce the possibilities of future service outages and/or interruption, degradation Responsible for the seamless implementation of all hardware and software changes Deal with hardware engineers to ensure prompt follow up on problems and preventive maintenance requirements Works in conjunction with the Systems Managed Storage area of Global Hosting Services to ensure disk resources are allocated in a cost efficient manner 24/7 shift work on rotational basis What do you need to succeed? Must have: Operational/technical experience with IBM mainframe servers Post-secondary education or equivalent Experience with incident resolution, problem management and change management Effective written and verbal communication skills Organized and detail oriented Nice to have: Ability to code in the REXX programming What's in it for you?
