Role Overview
As a Junior Software QA Analyst at Iversoft, you will be part of a team delivering high-quality software and applications. We take pride in our quality, and QA is one of the most important steps in our process. You will gain valuable experience in the software lifecycle and be part of exciting projects, working with top-notch QA and development teams.
Please note that the salary range for this role is $50,000-$60,000 CAD.
Responsibilities
Testing a variety of custom software and applications developed by our team, to make sure they are delivered free of errors
Reviewing documentation to understand required software behaviour
Executing manual test cases and procedures, including:
Functional testing
Regression testing, including creation of automated tests
Exploratory testing, finding edge cases where software receives unexpected user input
Testing potential security exploits
Reporting when performance is not optimal, or software behaves contrary to user expectations
Documenting and tracking bugs in Jira
Working closely with developers to replicate bugs, and discuss expected behaviour
Communicating with the team & project managers on testing progress, and flagging critical issues and blockers
Recommending improvements to the QA process, as needed
Working within a team, and taking pride in the final products that you are helping to perfect
2+ years experience performing software testing in a professional environment working directly with developers
Basic programming capabilities (for scripting and automation)
Strong organization, analytic and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with Jira
Passion for quality software and user experience
Willing to ask questions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
Strong attention to detail
Process-oriented
Willing to repeat tasks in the pursuit of perfection
Ability to picture how other users may use software
Nice-to-Haves
Post-secondary studies in IT, development or a related field
Experience using a test case management tool (bonus points for Qase)
Software development experience
Automated testing experience (ex. Playwright, etc.)
Experience dealing with external stakeholders and clients
