Location: Markham, Ontario Job Description: What is the role? In this role you will be directly supporting the Manager, Non Trade Accounts Payable to perform the duties of collecting, logging, validating and communication with all parties relating to electronic (EFT, ACH, Wire) vendor setups. Additionally, other tasks related to payment support. What will you do? Collect, log and validate vendor’s banking information for the purpose of setting up EFT/ACH/Wire accounts into NAVISION which will directly link with our XML payment process. Due diligence required to ensure banking information is collected from a reputable source and inputted information is valid and accurate to avert fraudulent activity. Perform vendor banking validation through details search and vendor calls and emails for payment confirmation as per Pet Valu’s fraud prevention Policy. Provide accurate updates and metrics on the electronic setup status at requested times Maintain the tracker of the intake requests from vendors and departments Assist with manual wire setups and wire portal banking information upkeep. Review existing processes and continuously look for efficiencies/improvements. Support auditor queries and provide support for control testing related to electronic setup and Payments as requested by internal and external auditors. Ensure timely response to both internal and external customer and vendor requests. Develop and maintain various excel files to support AP Payment processes using pivot tables and vlookups Assist on ad hoc projects and analysis as required What will you need to succeed? Education and Experience: College or university degree in finance, accounting or math 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, or Accounts Payable Knowledge and Skills: Experience using MS Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, & Excel Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookups and ability to determine best way to create files based on data and analysis needed Exceptional interpersonal skills highlighted by excellent verbal and written communication skills A team player who is adaptable and can work independently Organized with attention to detail We believe in investing in the development of our people and have an industry-leading promotion rate.
