Hiring Unit: Department of Mechanical Engineering POSITION SUMMARY: The Research Assistant 1 will assist the research team in conducting a research project; Computational simulations of shock interactions between reactive and inert layers with differing acoustic impedance. RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing simulations on high-performance computing resources Processing and analyzing results, and comparing them to analytical models Analyzing and interpreting research data and disseminating the results Responsible for the quality and results of their own work May provide technical guidance and training to research staff, including Undergraduate/Graduate Student Research Assistants and Technicians, in the execution of tasks related to research projects.
