REGISTERED NURSE - CLINICAL RESOURCE LEADER (CRL) EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
(FULL TIME POSITION)
One (1) full time Clinical Resource Leader (CRL) opportunity is available within the Emergency Department at the Louise Marshall site of North Wellington Health Care.
We are seeking a motivated Clinical Resource Leader (CRL) with excellent leadership and communication skills. As the CRL, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Emergency Department at Louise Marshall Hospital, under the direction of the Patient Care Manager. This includes assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of patient care and nursing services for the assigned area of responsibility. The CRL will serve as a clinical resource and role model for unit staff. In the absence of the Patient Care Manager, you will assume responsibility for the functioning of the Emergency Department as directed.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a leader in the organization, the Clinical Resource Leader (CRL) exemplifies the values of the organization and supports strategic objectives and corporate directions.
Provides leadership and coordination of activities and patient care for the emergency department
Coordinates and maintains patient flow from admission to discharge within and between nursing units
Coordinates and supports open communication between and among all multidisciplinary team members
Works in collaboration with all nurses and Clinical Resource Leaders in other areas of the hospital
Participates in the promotion of a healthy workplace
Provides leadership in Emergency Preparedness responses
Identifies areas of improvements to the unit and patient care to the Patient Care Manager
Identifies areas of required educational needs for nursing and provides teachable moments for nursing staff when appropriate
Participates in various activities and initiatives as directed by the Patient Care Manager
May also work within the inpatient units to provide back up to the Inpatient CRL
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Registration and a Member in good standing of The College Of Nurses of Ontario
Baccalaureate degree preferred
Emergency Nursing Certification with Canadian Nurses Association preferred
A minimum of five years' experience in an acute care hospital setting focusing on Emergency Care
Current CPR, ACLS
PALS & TNCC recommended
CTAS training and willingness to facilitate this training for nursing staff
Defibrillation certification and willingness to facilitate this certification for nursing staff
Evidence of leadership skills
Evidence of lifelong learning and professional development
Demonstrated excellence in effective communication and conflict management skills
Excellent critical thinking and decision making knowledge/ skills
Demonstrated change management skills
Able to work within a team and independently
Attendance at committees as required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance at committees as required
Satisfactory performance and attendance required
Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
HOURS:
As per departmental schedule
Willingness to work with the other CRL to schedule vacations and other time off
SALARY:
$41.41 to $58.35 per hour
