The “Subway Extensions Project Delivery Team” is hiring a Project Manager, Systems Assurance to support the Scarborough Subway and the Yonge North Subway Extensions to look after systems assurance, while collaborating with stakeholders and Technical Advisors.
This role looks after Systems Engineering, Safety and Security Assurance processes, by way of activities such as managing the projects’ System Assurance deliverables; coordinating reviews of the safety and security management submittals overseeing systems engineering processes for the project including requirements management, interface management and operational and maintenance aspects.
The office location are split between: 100 Consilium Place in Scarborough & 5650 Yonge St in North York, subject ot change.
What Will I Be Doing?
Manage the project contractors’ Systems Assurance, Systems Engineering, Safety and Security Assurance processes and submittals across multiple contracts related to the Yonge North Subway Extension and Scarborough Subway Extension.
Manage the Technical Advisors team’s work to support the Metrolinx Systems Assurance Team.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on reviews and comment resolution of Contractor submittals as part of the Metrolinx safety certification process.
Keep track of the multiple level of reviews of multiple documents and packages for multiple project processes including safety and security certification processes and project compliance reviews.
Oversee the Systems Engineering, Interface and Integration work of the Contractor.
Manage project requirements with respect to Systems Assurance, Safety, Security, Systems Engineering, Testing & Commissioning, Interface & Integration, Operations & Maintenance aspects.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any potential issues with project requirements and Metrolinx standards.
Work with commercial and legal to complete project documents including RFQ, RFP and variations.
Support internal and external audits of system assurance, safety and security processes as well as company processes.
Use of office tools and software to organize information, author reports and memorandums, and present topics to relevant stakeholders and management
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
Demonstrates experience in project management, preferably within the public sector
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Certified Engineering Technician (CET) or P.Eng. designation or partial completion is an asset
A valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence is an asset for regular site visits.
Project specific requirement for visits to construction sites (CPG) during working hours and very occasional visits during evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
You do not need to be a subject matter expert, but knowledge and experience of the following is an asset:
International and Canadian safety standards such as CMREA, CENELEC
