Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for executing intricate, skilled and technical tasks related to electrical repair and maintenance within retail stores and commercial office buildings. The successful candidate must have flexibility to work afterhours on-call shifts to address urgent issues when needed. A service vehicle will be provided to travel between locations. You will be responsible for: Diagnosing, repairing, testing, and installing all types of electrical equipment, wiring, appliances and fixtures in retail stores and commercial office buildings. Performing general electrical maintenance, such as panel infrared scanning, and electrical equipment/vault cleaning. Re-lamping and re-ballasting store lighting, such as refrigerated case lighting, overhead store lighting, department/office lighting and exterior lot poles. Completing minor LED retrofits in all types of equipment and light fixtures. Troubleshooting and replacing wiring, bulbs, and ballasts on refrigerated cases. Purchasing materials/hardware from approved accounts. Maintaining accurate records on material, labour, and electrical logbook. Maintaining inventory and security of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials. Strictly following the applicable electrical & building codes. Completing all other electrical repairs & maintenance tasks as assigned. Assisting the facilities maintenance team on an as needed basis. You have: 5 or more years of experience with electrical service in a fast-paced environment. Electrical Journeyman and Red Seal Certifications. A strong understanding of Commercial and Industrial Electrical systems, materials, and equipment. Experience in lighting control, systems and repair (Ex. Douglas Relay). A valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence for travel between stores. Ability to travel out-of-town on an as needed basis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Electrical FSR-B certification is an asset. Experience Working on HVAC Controls is an asset. Fire Alarm experience is an asset. Active Fall Protection/Lift Training is an asset.
