Job Description What is the Opportunity? Manager, Project Controls The Strategic Execution Team, as part of the Process Risk and Strategic Execution group under the RBC Chief Controls Office, has a mandate to develop and implement a proactive, standardized, scalable program and project management discipline that drives consistency in delivery of strategic objectives, while ensuring execution of RBC enterprise (Board, CoE and Group Executive) and cross-functional business programs and projects. Working within a high-performance area of the bank, the team provides opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and the chance to work on the bank’s most ambitious initiatives. As the Manager, Project Controls, you will support the Strategic Execution team in the planning, scheduling, execution and monitoring of projects. You will work closely with Senior Project Managers and other key stakeholders, analyzing project data, identifying and tracking risks and issues, managing project controls and recommending corrective actions. This role requires a dynamic individual who can manage cross-functional workflows, support strategic objectives and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. What will you do? Collaborate with project team & stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables Develop and maintain project schedules and plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments Manage project intake processes including establishment of project controls Establish and maintain team template library and team playbook Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare financial reports to guide project performance. Create presentations, internal project websites and communicate project progress to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with RBC standards, policies, and regulations. Identify opportunities to optimize resource allocation and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising project quality. Support stakeholder management to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables if applicable Support project lessons learned to assess project performance against objectives, identifying areas for improvement in future initiatives. What do you need to succeed? Must-to-have: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field Proven experience with project management and project controls or related role Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting with advanced knowledge of Excel Proven knowledge of all aspects of program and project management processes Strategic financial business acumen and strong risk and cost control mindset Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and stakeholder management abilities A bias for action, demonstrating agility and decisiveness with prior experience working in fast-paced deadline and sensitive environments Nice-to-have: Problem-solving mindset and a keen eye for detail PMP or equivalent certification is an asset What's in it for you?
