TITLE: Housekeeping Supervisor – Cliff Lodge LOCATION: Cliff Lodge – Snowbird Resort STATUS: Hourly, Full-time, Year-round SUMMARY Under the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor oversees work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, attractive rooms, prepares and assigns workers their duties, and inspects work meets standards of cleanliness. WHAT YOU’LL DO Obtains list of vacant rooms that need to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments. Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness. Advises manager, desk clerk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action. Check cleaned rooms to verify and ensure standards of cleanliness.Trains and supervises housekeepers in job performance.Checks rooms for maintenance problems. Take periodic inventory and may purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment. WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 6-12 months of job specific work experience with demonstrated competence. Prior supervisory experience necessary. Must be organized and work well in a fast-paced environment. Must be reliable and prompt to work. Must be at least 18 years of age. Demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, simple arithmetic, and interpersonal relations. Must be reliable, mature, and able to work with minimal supervision. Requires some exercise of judgement within policy guidelines and without managerial approval. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner. WORK SCHEDULE Any day of the week, 8:00am to 4:00pm (or until work is completed). WORKING CONDITIONS Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, on occasional times of road closures. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements, periodic guest relations, during high-occupancy periods, and commuting to/from Snowbird. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions. Must be able to walk through snow and on ice and uneven terrain at times to get to and from work sites. Daily work with cleaning chemicals can present some hazards and must use care with chemicals. Able to push or pull beds, move chairs, and move tables. May experience stress due to periodic guest relations, also during high occupancy periods.
