About the Role:
Responsibilities of a Gas/Maintenance Technician is to service, inspect and repair all boilers installed for clients. Makes recommendations for boiler spare parts. Tests, samples and repairs water, chemical and water treatment equipment. Covers 24 hr. on call on a rotation basis. Offers support by phone and email to customers. Reports to Assistant Manager for all administrative requirements, and Field Supervisor for field work activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Travels to customer locations assigned and identifies boiler and water treatment equipment failures/problems. Repairs, services or replaces all items as deemed necessary and appropriate. (uses wrenches, hand tools, combustion analyzers, multimeters, etc.)
Performs regular inspections on boilers and water treatment equipment as outlined in the Inspection Report Form. (uses wrenches, hand tools, combustion analyzers, multimeters, etc.)
Troubleshoots boiler and water treatment control panel problems and all associated wiring and parts deficiencies and repair or replace anything where necessary. (uses multimeter and simulator)
Take water samples from customers Miura steam systems for analysis.
Perform basic water treatment testing of the boiler water program and report conditions to clients.
Communicates with customers (by phone, email or in person) to solve their complaints.
Assesses and identifies all scale and corrosion related problems regarding the boiler.
Assesses and evaluates steam and hot water distribution systems such that safe and appropriate recommendations and evaluations can be made.
Maintains parts inventory in stock room and in vans. Informs company representative when parts may need to be ordered for warehouse stock.
Performs the start up of boilers, water treatment equipment and other equipment for new or retrofit installations and monitors operations to ensure that the Miura equipment working appropriately and that any problems are resolved.
Ensure adherence to all COMPANY policies and practices including but not limited to; Health and Safety, HR and any additional that are applicable in your role.
Maintain required administrative duties. (time sheets, cyber security, work orders, emails, milage tracking, expenses, quotes, etc.)
Responsible for the care and organization of company tools and equipment
Countermeasure – Complete countermeasures if required
Collecting Customer Information – Visit customers, collect information
Business Growth – Recommend replacing parts and promote monitoring equipment, chemical and maintenance contract to achieve Preventative Maintenance
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
Proven field service experience
Technical degree or certification
TSSA G1 Gas license for Ontario (asset)
Ability to troubleshoot, test, and service technical equipment
English literacy
Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
Familiarity with mobile tools and applications

Standing – Required standing for long periods of time.
