POSITION SUMMARY:
Position Title: Parking Enforcement Officer
Location: CFB Esquimalt
Position Status: Union (PSAC)
Reports to: Site Supervisor
Hours of Work: 0700-1500 Mon-Fri, excluding statutory holidays
Wage: $22.29/hr plus shift premiums
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understanding of Access Regulations at Dockyard for both Vehicles and persons.
Work at Gates when required. Ornamental Gate in Naden is to be manned by the Parking Enforcement Commissionaire between 0730-0830.
Patrol all Dockyard, Naden, Work Point and Colwood parking area either on a self-determined basis or in response to specific requests.
Enforce all parking regulations in accordance with Base Standing Orders.
Be responsible for completing records and other related paperwork directly connected with parking enforcement.
Be available to discuss tickets in the Dockyard Main Gate between 1130 and 1200 daily unless otherwise directed by the Site One Supervisor.
Respond to requests or direction from the Site One Supervisor concerning parking enforcement. All matters referred to Parking Control must go through the Site One Supervisor only.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluent in English, written and spoken. Multilingual an asset but not necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Critical thinking, self-motivation, and time management skills.
Ability to operate individually as well as in a team.
A great attitude and customer service skills, with the ability to problem solve.
Ability to manage difficult customer situations. Training may also be provided in conflict resolution.
Proficient computer skills, including the ability to use electronic mail systems and Microsoft applications.
Must possess a valid BC Drivers License and be able to obtain a military drivers license (DND 404).
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
