Reporting to the Centre for the Enrichment of Teaching and Learning (CETL), you’ll help prepare simulation spaces, operate and maintain equipment, and ensure simulation sessions run smoothly.You’ll work with a variety of simulation modalities, including high- and low-fidelity mannequins, task trainers, audiovisual systems, and standardized patients. This role is ideal for someone with experience in healthcare simulation or clinical education who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and learner support in dynamic settings.Responsibilities: Set up and operate simulation equipment, including mannequins, task trainers, AV systems, and simulation control software.Assist instructors and participants with simulation setup, and operations.Support standardized patient sessions by preparing space, materials, and logistics.Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and updates of simulation equipment.Track simulation equipment and consumables using institutional digital systems.Coordinate with IM, AV, and Facilities teams to ensure simulation technologies are properly integrated and supported.Use internal ticketing systems to log and manage simulation-related technical support requests.Provide basic training and technical orientation to faculty, staff, and student assistants.Contribute to lab documentation, checklists, and safety procedures.Uphold safety protocols, infection prevention practices, and operational standards in simulation spaces.Participate in tours, demonstrations, and simulation-related events or initiatives.QualificationsEducation in a health-related or technical field, such as medical laboratory science, nursing, respiratory therapy, paramedicine, or health sciences. This may include a diploma, certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience supporting simulation-based education, skills labs, or clinical training environments (typically 1–3 years).Demonstrated experience with simulation equipment and platforms (e.g., Laerdal, Gaumard, CAE), including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.Familiarity with simulation session flow, working with faculty or facilitators to support live or recorded sessions.Comfort using digital systems for inventory, scheduling, and session documentation.Asset: CHSOS certification or willingness to pursue after hire.Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and in team-based environments.Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs).Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire.Additional InformationClosing Date: Until Filled Qualified applicants are invited to submit a detailed resume and cover letter.
