The National Vice President (NVP), Operations will lead Alumo’s national operations team, ensuring exceptional service delivery, scalable systems, and seamless execution across our student health and wellbeing offerings. Reporting to the General Manager of Alumo, the NVP will be accountable for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of operational processes across Canada, serving over a million student members through a complex B2B model with diverse partner needs. This is a transformational leadership role. The NVP will be at the forefront of integrating multiple acquired businesses, unifying systems, and building a data-driven, client-centric operations engine. This leader will work closely with a bilingual team across multiple regions to ensure alignment, consistency, and excellence in all aspects of delivery. The National Vice President, Operations will: Strategic Leadership and Execution Translate Alumo’s business strategy into operational plans that scale nationally while meeting regional and partner-specific needs. A significant foundation has already been laid in integrating legacy businesses and systems. This leader will be responsible for continuing that work through to full unification under a cohesive national model. Align resources, platforms, and people to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services. Support the growth of the newly launched Alumo brand, ensuring its promise is reflected in every operational touchpoint and client interaction. Service Delivery and Retention Ensure operational excellence in administering student benefits, including health, dental, and other wellbeing services. Collaborate with Partnerships & Development team to enhance partner retention and satisfaction through consistent, high-quality service experiences. Build and manage SLA frameworks, operational dashboards, and proactive issue resolution processes. Operational Innovation and Systems Thinking Lead the development an/or optimization of core platforms (e.g., enrolment platform, claims systems, CRM, member portals), ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs. Provide operational oversight across a broad and evolving portfolio of functions, ensuring teams, systems, and processes are aligned, efficient, and continuously improving. Embed automation, workflow management, and process improvement principles into daily operations. Drive a data-informed culture by embedding analytics into operational decision-making, forecasting, and reporting. People Leadership and Culture Build, lead, and inspire a national, bilingual team across multiple regions and legacy organizations. Promote a high-performance, inclusive culture that reflects Alumo’s values and purpose. Invest in leadership development, engagement, and succession planning for key operational talent. Financial and Performance Management Own operational budgets and resource plans, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources. Monitor and report on key performance indicators across all areas of operations to ensure visibility into performance, efficiency, and service quality. Partner with Finance to ensure timely and accurate financial and operational reporting. To be successful as a National Vice President, Operations, you will need: 10+ years of progressive operations leadership, ideally in financial services, health benefits, and/or large-scale service organizations. Experience leading complex integrations and building scalable operations across multiple regions. Strong understanding of claims administration, client service operations, and platform development. Experience working with bilingual (English/French) teams; French proficiency is a strong asset. Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to lead through influence and manage diverse stakeholder needs. Willingness to travel across Canada as needed to engage with regional teams and partners; flexibility to support a national business with an in-person leadership presence where it matters. Passion for purpose-driven work, especially in education, health, or wellbeing. Strong assets for this role: Familiarity with the governance structures, political environments, and operational realities of student associations and post-secondary institutions in Canada. Experience navigating regulatory and compliance frameworks related to insurance and health benefits, including working within or alongside bodies like the AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers) in Quebec. Comfort operating in a highly mission-driven, client-sensitive environment with elevated reputational risk considerations.
