Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director Marketing and Branding, the Creative Operations Advisor is responsible for creative operations and managing high-impact projects. Transform the marketing team’s creative process by developing a solution that is adapted to McGill’s environment. Create a process that will drive efficiency and foster collaboration within our team and with stakeholders, even in our decentralized context. Work with the team to implement this new creative process and deliver top quality creative work. Work on other production tasks Primary Responsibilities: Provides strategic guidance on creative operations and project management, and works closely with the Creative Director. Acts as dotted-line manager to the Creative team (graphic artists, video and multimedia, live events). Leads the development of a new creative process, and launches, provides training for, and fully implements this new process. Manages, and is accountable for, timelines and budget-tracking for university-wide marketing and branding initiatives locally, across Canada, and around the world. Will evaluate the need for a new project management tool, and either oversee the procurement of such a tool or optimize the current solution to enhance the speed, efficacy and quality of our creative processes and products. Ensures framework alignment and process comprehension by creating comprehensive onboarding and training materials for the team. Acts as project manager for the Marketing team, above and beyond creative-only projects. Acts as production manager to organize photo and video shoots, and sources suppliers as needed. Allocates creative teams/staff to specific projects Assesses staffing/upskilling needs to ensure optimal resource utilization. Provides senior-level advice on Marketing project-planning, ensuring strategic project prioritization and resource allocation.
