The Opportunity: Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Material Handler for our Distribution & Warehouse Operations organization. This Mississauga, CAN role is full-time on-site, Monday through Friday 10:00 am- 6:30 PM. Minimum Education Requirement High School diploma/ GED. Required Experience (1+ yr): Warehouse systems (IE: SAP). Collaboration skills. (IE: Microsoft Teams/ Outlook). Preferred Experience: Inbound: Unload trucks, trailers, containers of freight, counting products, compare to manifest to check all shipments for damage, infestation, or production code dates. Report shortages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate forms. Sign for inbound shipments Moving inbound shipments safely to storage locations to be efficiently stacked as store merchandise. Order Picking: Ensuring that the correct product number, quantity and type (lot, batch, serial number) of product are picked. Transporting orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment such as fork trucks, cherry pickers and/ or pallet jacks. Stacking / separating good from bad pallets Cleaning railcars, trailers, truck docks and bays. Repacking/ re-boxing cases per customer instructions. Labeling, stenciling, tagging, marking orders, banding, bundling, wrapping, over-pack, and palletizing Equipment: Maintaining equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Operating equipment safely and efficiently. Forklift/ HAZMAT certification. Operating shrink-wrap machine Charging forklift batteries Complying with company standards and OSHA requirements. Inventory: Keeping accurate records and reports. Assisting in physical inventories and cycle counts. Repairing and consolidating damaged goods. Ensuring proper stock rotation. Keying inventory adjustments via a PC. Outbound: Comparing quantity, labeling and address with order to ensure out-going shipments are complete and correct. Assigning signature for outbound shipments Moving product, cartons and or pallets into trailers, rail cars or containers. Reading, analyzing, and interpreting SOP’s, coverage, documents, and regulations. Writing reports and business correspondence. Presenting information Responding to questions from managers, clients, customers and the public. Performs other duties as assigned.
