Fitness Instructor
Job Status: Continuous Part-Time
Pay & Grade: $25.58 to $34.11 hourly
Hours of Work:Up to 24 hours per week

Overview
Seeking dedicated Fitness Instructors to teach a variety of fitness disciplines starting in the Fall. An ideal candidate will have group fitness, Pilates, Zumba or Barre certification, excellent communication skills, and availability to instruct classes during evenings and weekends. The position will start with 1 to 2 programs per week during the fall session.
Responsibilities
Develop and conduct engaging fitness programs for participants, ensuring they meet required standards.
Ensure participant’s safety through proper instruction, feedback and supervision
Modify programs as needed to ensure the inclusion of all participants. Integrate inclusion staff, private support workers and volunteers into programs as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness spaces and equipment
Maintain accurate records, including class attendance and incident reports, and distribute relevant forms and program information.
Provide a high level of front-line customer service and respond to participants' immediate concerns and need
Act as a bridge between the facility and participants.
Provide first aid as required.
Specify the type of group fitness program(s) you are able to instruct.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Grade 12 diploma.
Certified Fitness Instructor or Certified Wellness Instructor relevant to the program. interested in instructing.
6 months of related experience.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on program needs.
Proven experience in providing instruction within a program setting.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, along with strong customer service and behavior management abilities.
Provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check at your own expense as a condition of employment.
Valid CPR Level “C” and Emergency First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
Demonstrated reliability, positive attitude, and good employment record.
