Job DescriptionInterpret and apply information found in drawings, specifications, building codes and/or received instructions from the superintendent,Lay building foundations and plan task sequences. Carry out the activities within the designated trade of carpentry.Ensure an adequate material supply by estimating and selecting materials required to complete a job or task,Prepare framing for cement and execute cement mixing and pouring.Prefabricate, erect, and remove structural formwork for various concrete elements.Perform internal and external structural repairs.Construct stairs and framework using hand tools and fastening materials.Set up scaffolding as needed for elevated work.Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment.Assist with the delivery of related municipal services.Maintain a daily task log and implement preventative maintenance schedules.Collaborate with the superintendent and adhere to quality control systems.Adhere to all Chandos policies, procedures, and safety regulations.QualificationsExperience in formwork, ceiling's and roof framing is preferred.Experience working on ceilings at heights of up to 60 ft, or the ability to work comfortably at heights of up to 60 ft.Willingness to commute outside of Calgary, including surrounding areas such as Cochrane, Canmore, High River, and Rockview areas, may be necessary. Work will be conducted in all weather conditions.Safety Certificates including Fall Protection, & Mobile Elevated Work Platform or Aerial Work Platform are considered an asset.WHMIS 2015CSTS 2020 First aid and CPR certification preferred.Proficiency in blueprint reading and materials estimation.Mathematical and analytical skills for accurate estimates.Must be actively working in the trade.Working knowledge of construction trades, practices, and safety protocols.Competency in safe operation of hand and power tools.Knowledge of workplace safety, lifting, and handling procedures.Additional InformationChandos is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture and this includes our recruitment and hiring process.
