This position offers flexibility in terms of location: you can choose to work remotely from home, in our office, or in a hybrid arrangement but ideally you will want to occasionally work out of the MTL office to enhance collaboration. The opportunity Human Resources (HR) plays an integral role in Medavie’s mission to improve the wellbeing of Canadians. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) team is comprising of dedicated HR professionals who provide hands on support while being strategic partners and trusted advisors to all levels of management across assigned client groups. The Manager, HRBP and Labor Relations will play a dual role: acting as a strategic HR Business Partner to assigned client groups while also leading a team of HR professionals. In addition to leading their direct reports, the Manager will work closely with other HRBPs and HR Centers of Excellence to influence and implement enterprise-wide HR initiatives. They ensure that HR programs are tailored to meet evolving business needs, comply with collective agreements, and adhere to provincial legislation. As the Manager, HRBP and Labor Relations: You will lead and develop a Team of HR professionals, fostering collaboration, growth, and accountability. You will partner with Senior Leaders to align people strategies with business goals across diverse teams. You will drive Strategic HR Initiatives by supporting organisation design, workforce planning, and career development. You will champion Talent and Culture by promoting learning, growth, and succession planning. Helping building a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven culture. You will lead Labor Relations by managing negotiations, conflict resolution, and union relationships. Ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. You will use data to guide decisions and shape proactive solutions. You will play a key role in advancing enterprise-wide HR initiatives by leading and contributing to strategic projects and process improvements that drive organizational effectiveness and support long-term business success. You are the right candidate if you: Are an effective communicator and coach, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Possess strong strategic acumen and a genuine interest in understanding business operations to align HR strategies with organizational goals. Demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and support diverse client groups. Take a proactive, partnership-driven approach to labor relations, favoring collaboration and constructive dialogue over conflict. Exhibit sound judgment and problem-solving abilities, especially when navigating complex employee relations issues.
