Job Title Marketing Manager Job Description Summary Oversee the Cornwall Centre’s marketing department and ensure all goals and objectives are aligned with operations, leasing and development departments. Lead the creation of new partnerships, programs and events to drive brand awareness and elevate brand identity. Development and implementation of the annual marketing plan for the Centre. Job Description Marketing Strategy Development and implementation of annual marketing plan and budget for the shopping centre with the ultimate goal of increasing customer traffic and driving sales growth Implement all marketing plans, strategies, and tactics to ensure the highest standards of execution. Responsible for preparation, direction, management, tracking and reporting of the annual marketing budget. Regular monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of key results as they relate to marketing programs, including sales, traffic, social media and digital analytics. Creation of promotional, advertising and marketing programs to enhance profile of the shopping centre with the goal of driving sales and increasing customer traffic. Oversee development and implementation of all promotional activities and special events Oversee the implementation, operation and promotion of the centre’s gift card program. Leasing Work alongside Leasing to develop and regularly update information packages for prospective tenants, as required to augment leasing and marketing efforts, and keep market and customer information current. Manage vacancies and create visually appealing windows to minimize appearance and entice lease opportunities. Retailer Development Analyze monthly sales reports with the General Manager to identify sales promotion opportunities. Organization annual retailer meetings, as well as regular communication with Centre retailers and managers through in person meetings, emails, and monthly and quarterly updates Establish key contacts at retailer head offices to assist with development and support for all marketing programs. Work with retailers on advertising opportunities and marketing strategy as needed Evaluate local/regional retailers as potential tenants. New Partnership Development Source sponsors and partners to elevate brand and drive revenue/reduce costs for marketing budget throughout the year, including key sales periods. Negotiate contra opportunities with select partners to maximize dollars spent. Lead the development and execution of the annual Holiday/Décor Event Strategy. Source associated holiday sponsorship and partnership opportunities where possible. Sponsored Events Create a targeted event strategy to implement signature events (including Holiday) throughout the year. Organize events to build community for the Cornwall Centre Be the key contact for the Cornwall Centre with the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (RDBID), Tourism and other community stakeholders to optimize all marketing opportunities and drive new ideas to promote shopping downtown. Communication & Reporting Work closely with the agency on setting and implementing social media, and email campaigns to align with marketing objectives for the property as a whole Communicate with all departments to ensure brand consistency across the entire portfolio Participate in owners’ meetings as required to review new development and marketing program results, etc. Review monthly expense allocations to ensure budget control and accountability. Oversee the preparation of monthly reports and provide an analysis of results with recommendations. Education & Experience: Post-secondary education with a minimum 2 years of marketing experience in retail or shopping centre related experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of the local, national, and international retail landscape. Experience in branded partnership marketing and special events, advertising (including traditional, media, digital and social marketing mediums), public relations and Internal & external communications Must present a professional image in line with company values to cold-call, network, and build lasting relationships within the retail, tourism and events community, both locally and nationally. Established relationships with Regina’s corporate and community associations are a definite asset. Must be an effective communicator to a variety of management and ownership levels. Experience launching community initiatives Hands on experience with social media management for brands Ability to interpret website and foot-traffic and customer engagement metrics Must be extremely multi-task oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills; excel at working in a fast-paced team environment. Strong organizational skills Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft applications, internet/web capabilities and social media applications. Experience with design software is an asset Positive attitude, upbeat personality and overall enthusiasm for the role are key Ability to negotiate, source quotes from multiple suppliers as needed Understanding that creativity is a key asset, especially when it comes to creating upscale, professional events and promotions on a low budget. Flexibility with hours is key – evening and weekend events, especially around the holiday season will be required Other duties as required.
