Job Description The Firmware Engineering Co-op will perform project-oriented work under the direction of firmware development engineers that are focused on developing firmware for implementing features to control variable frequency drives (VFDs). This role is full-time on-site at the Rockwell Automation Cambridge, ON office and does not provide relocation. Your Responsibilities: Design and develop firmware. Product testing and certification. Coding activities (C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink). Maintain and develop test setups. Maintain firmware metrics. Document firmware applications and components. Research into new technologies. The Essentials - You Will Have: Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university. Available to work a minimum of 9 months consecutively starting in September 2025. Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. The Preferred - You Might Also Have: Must be working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university. Previous internship or co-op experience. Experience with C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink. Exposure to oscilloscopes, multimeters and other hardware tools. Knowledge of PLC programming and Control Systems.
