As the Director, Information Security Operations, reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, you will be responsible for managing, responding to, and ensuring that cybersecurity incidents are handled effectively. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the Security Operations Center (SOC) team and related technologies, helping to drive innovation, efficiency, and active protection across Element’s global footprint. A Day in the Life Monitor and respond to alerts and events from SIEM systems and other tools to detect, analyze, and contain threats. Lead a team of internal and third-party professionals to align operational practices with strategic cybersecurity goals. Develop, maintain, and test incident response plans and playbooks; lead simulation exercises to enhance readiness. Oversee forensic analysis, threat intelligence activities, and proactive incident mitigation efforts. Collaborate with IT, security, and enterprise teams to drive cyber control implementation and process improvements. Design and evolve the SOC architecture and technology roadmap, including automation and next-gen tooling. Maintain governance and compliance posture through policy development, adherence to regulations, and regular reporting. Produce incident documentation, reporting metrics (e.g., KRIs, KPIs), and present to senior leadership. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT support roles, with at least 5 years focused on incident response. Demonstrated experience managing security operations teams or SOCs. Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Exabeam, Splunk), endpoint detection tools, threat intelligence, and IDS/IPS. Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH. Comfortable working in high-pressure environments and responding during non-business hours. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and analytical problem-solving skills Knowledge & Competencies Strong decision-making skills to rapidly assess and respond to complex security incidents. Operates with a high degree of independence and accountability. Ability to clearly communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders. Creative and adaptive in developing new response strategies and playbooks. Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor and support peers. The hiring base salary range for this position is $162,700 - $223,700 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
