The Cancer Imaging Program oversees a range of quality initiatives and specialized services across multiple areas of patient care, particularly in emerging imaging and treatment technologies. In addition to cancer imaging quality initiatives, the program manages independent service areas including interventional oncology procedures, the neuroendocrine tumour (NETs) program with radionuclide therapies, radiology quality assurance for the Ontario Lung Screening Program, and comprehensive oversight of provincial PET scanning. These areas, while unified by imaging technologies, function independently with distinct operational needs, stakeholders, and system-level responsibilities. Reporting to the Group Manager, Cancer Imaging, the Specialist, Cancer Imaging supports the achievement of program goals by working collaboratively with team members, clinical leads, and external stakeholders. The specialist applies program management best practices to lead and contribute to a range of activities including current state assessments, planning, implementation, quality improvement, and performance management. Here is what you will be doing: Planning and leading multiple small to medium-scale projects and quality improvement initiatives. Engaging with key stakeholders—including clinical experts, internal team members, and committee representatives—to support the operations and initiatives of the Cancer Imaging Program. Planning and organizing meetings and events; preparing and distributing relevant materials; and developing, updating, and maintaining project-related documents and reports. Coordinating project and program activities by collaborating with sponsors, steering committees, and project teams to operationalize plans and monitor tasks and milestones. Overseeing project and program activities by tracking action items and ensuring timely follow-up and completion to meet deliverables. Acting as a liaison and primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information. Conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses to support project and program objectives, as required. Participating in the development and implementation of quality measurement frameworks and indicators to support continuous improvement and oversight. Collaborating with clinical experts to conduct needs assessments, literature reviews, surveys, and environmental scans; supporting the development of educational resources, evaluation tools, recommendation reports, and position statements. Contributing to the design and implementation of Cancer Imaging Program–specific data collection, reporting, and management tools, ensuring high-quality data standards are maintained. Maintaining and updating collaborative platforms such as SharePoint, MS Teams, and program webpages. Supporting the development and dissemination of communication and implementation tools, including letters, reports, briefs, templates, newsletters, and training materials. Facilitating and contributing to knowledge transfer and exchange (KTE) activities; maintaining subject matter expertise to support program goals through activities such as scholarly publications, presentations, and seminars. Here is what you will need to be successful: Education and Experience Undergraduate degree (master’s degree preferred) in clinical epidemiology, health services research, health administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 to 5 years of professional experience, including at least 1-3 years of recent work within the healthcare sector. Demonstrated success in both project management and change management roles. Experience leading or supporting small to medium-scale strategic projects, ideally in a related healthcare field. Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advance quality improvement agendas. Experience working with multidisciplinary clinical stakeholder groups is considered an asset. Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses, including systematic literature reviews. Strong ability to synthesize clinical subject matter from clinician input, scientific literature, and clinical guidelines, and translate findings into actionable recommendations and deliverables. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of the healthcare system, preferably in cancer care and/or diagnostic imaging. Knowledge of project management methodologies, quality improvement, and performance management best practices. Proven ability to translate program needs into clear data collection and reporting requirements. Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain trust, credibility, and respectful relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Solid time management skills: ability to plan and organize work within set timelines, and manage shifting priorities.
