Job Title: Quoting Specialist Department: Customer Service Reports to: Customer Service Manager Classification: Exempt Location: Welland, ON Travel: Yes Job Summary: The Quoting Specialist prepares accurate quotes for pricing, builds estimates for special items by gathering information and analyzing material and job costing, and is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production processes. Expands skills in own work area. Maintains appropriate licenses, training and/or certifications, as needed. Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within our area of expertise. Works within standard operating procedures. Works with a moderate degree of supervision. Duties/Responsibilities: Establish tool Design and Quote standard, modified standard, and custom tools. Collect data by interfacing with customers and sales reps to help make a selection of tool types. Gather manufacturing and engineering data to effectively evaluate production feasibility of the customer request and provide accurate quotations to the customer. Communicate with customers with regards to quotations, applications and design engineering. Assist inside sales with order processing, phone calls, and mail during times of excessive load. Request material quotes for materials when needed. Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels. Evaluate supplies for quality and timeliness. Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage. Produce reports based on findings and performance of production. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Basic Computer and software skills Hands on Manufacturing experience Turning Swiss Turning Engineering Experience Tooling Layouts Tool Design Strong communications skills 2-6 years of quoting experience is preferred. 2-6 years in Manufacturing, Engineering or Related Role Preferred Autocad and Excel Required Skills/Abilities: Work is done within own team. Understands how the assigned duties relate to others in the team and how the team integrates with others in the discipline. Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established options. Strong reasoning ability to overcome objections and complete the sales process. Ability to multitask in a face paced manufacturing environment. Proficient with Microsoft office Products. Ability to foster and maintain customer relationships. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds at times.
