About Anyon Systems
Anyon Systems is a Canadian company building the next generation of superconducting quantum computers. We design and manufacture complete quantum systems—ranging from quantum processors to cryogenic infrastructure and software—entirely in-house. Our mission is to bring practical quantum advantage to society, and we are growing our team to meet the increasing demand for scalable, high-performance quantum hardware.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Nanofabrication Operations to lead the development, production, and scale-up of quantum processor fabrication. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and operational excellence across our nanofabrication activities, from process development to wafer-level manufacturing and device packaging. You will build and lead a world-class team responsible for fabricating high-coherence superconducting quantum devices.
This is a senior leadership role requiring both deep technical expertise and proven operational leadership in nanofabrication environments, particularly in areas related to semiconducting, MEMS, or superconducting quantum circuits.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Anyon’s nanofabrication strategy for superconducting quantum processors and related device technologies.
Oversee cleanroom operations, including process development, equipment planning, and workflow optimization.
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing nanofab team including process engineers, technicians, and packaging specialists.
Collaborate with R&D, cryogenic hardware, and quantum device teams to align fabrication capabilities with system-level performance targets.
Own yield improvement, process control, and quality assurance across fab operations.
Establish and maintain partnerships with external foundries, universities, and research labs.
Guide long-term roadmap planning for process technologies, tooling, and scale-up toward volume production.
Support IP development and technology transfer activities.
Represent nanofab operations in executive planning, customer engagements, and investor discussions.
Qualifications
Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
10+ years of hands-on experience in nanofabrication of advanced semiconducting, superconducting, or MEMS devices.
Proven leadership experience managing complex fab operations or R&D programs in a high-tech or research setting.
Deep understanding of thin-film deposition, etching, lithography, and planarization techniques.
Familiarity with superconducting materials and quantum device physics (e.g., Josephson junctions, resonators, qubits) is an asset.
Track record of delivering high-yield, high-performance devices in cleanroom environments.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to operate strategically while remaining technically engaged.
Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment is an asset.
Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) is required.
