Job Description: Job Summary The Senior Operations Manager of the Ontario Distribution Centre (ODC) is responsible for providing leadership and directing the delivery of day-to-day operations. This includes partnership with the Divisional Secretary for Mission Resources in formulating strategy, improving performance and budgeting. The Senior Operations Manager gives oversight to managers and staff providing front line ministry units and external partner agencies with the merchandise needed. Responsible for ensuring that all programs operate in accordance with The Salvation Army’s internal standards and relevant legislation. Key Accountabilities Provide overall leadership, direction, and oversight of ODC operations in alignment with The Salvation Army’s Mission, Vision, and Values, consulting with the Divisional Secretary for Mission Resources. Develop, implement, and review policies, procedures, and operational methods to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with laws and TSA standards. Lead strategic planning and execution of initiatives to achieve organizational objectives, including forecasting growth and driving program integration. Manage, mentor, and evaluate staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and maintaining clear job descriptions and mandatory certifications. Ensure health and safety compliance, oversee WSIB claims, manage incidents, and implement proactive prevention measures in the workplace. Maintain financial oversight, including budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, revenue projections, and resource allocation, in alignment with Divisional strategies. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, donors, partner agencies, and government bodies to support operations and strategic objectives. Oversee operational effectiveness, inventory control, office administration, data reporting, and statistical analysis to support informed decision-making. Foster programming excellence and organizational culture by ensuring alignment with TSA service philosophy, values, and territorial objectives. Drive people management strategies, team leadership, collaboration, and staff development to achieve organizational goals and maintain high performance. Education and Experience Qualifications Completion of a University Degree of three academic years in a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of recent progressive related experience, including executive management experience in distribution and logistics within the food services industry, budget controls, managing people, managing resources, and communicating orally and in corresponding with community partners. Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s license, a current driver’s abstract Experience working in the not-for-profit sector. Supervisory/management skills and the ability to lead, coach and motivate employees and volunteers while ensuring every reasonable precaution is taken for the health and safety of workers. Valid Food Safety and First Aid / CPR Certifications would be an asset. Proficiency in Office 365 computer programs is required. Must have excellent customer service, analytical, mathematical; oral and written skills. Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility. Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback. Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain a team environment; work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $66,831.48 to $83,539.35 with a maximum of $100,247.22. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
