Location: Buchanan Park; 30 Laurier Avenue, Hamilton ON L9C 3R9
Total Weekly Hours: 16.25 hours/week
Schedule: Monday to Friday 2:45pm - 6:00pm
Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $20.93 per hour

Who We’re Looking For
Experience
Practical experience supporting children with a variety of needs, including physical, behavioral, and mental health challenges; this may include children on the autism spectrum and those with medical needs.
Education
Minimum Secondary School diploma or equivalent
Completion of a Personal Support Worker program or similar course is an asset
Certifications
Standard First Aid with CPR level C
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)
Skills & Characteristics
Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? is an asset
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and professionally with children, families, and staff
Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with equipment and devices
A dedicated advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusion
Capable of working independently and as part of a dynamic team
Key Responsibilities:
Play a key role in supporting children, families, and staff where additional resources are needed.
Work closely with program staff to implement classroom and child management techniques
Assist with documentation and updates on Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
Collaborate in alignment with How Does Learning Happen? to ensure a holistic and supportive environment for each child
