Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Interuniversity and High Performance Sport and under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager, Student-Athlete Services, the incumbent provides a wide range of academic success support services and guidance to interuniversity and high performance student- athletes.
Working in a diverse fast-paced, energetic team environment, the incumbent will be detail oriented and deliver accurate, effective, and efficient customer service while projecting a welcoming, positive and professional image for the Varsity Blues program at the University of Toronto. This position collaborates closely with interuniversity coaches, registrars, and on-campus student support staff to promote the well-being, inclusion, holistic development, and academic success of student-athletes, empowering them to thrive both within and beyond sport.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering and promoting student-athlete service programs, opportunities and/or initiatives, including academic success, accessibility, health and wellness consulting, career training and transition support programs.
- Liaising with student-athletes, team leaders, athletic and academic staff to foster collaboration, advance service delivery and ensure consistent administration procedures are followed. This includes meetings with current and prospective students athletes.
- Implementing plans and process improvements for programs and service activity.
- Developing content for student-athlete resources and program materials and editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and handbooks.
- Determining the logistical details and activities for student-athlete service programming, coordinating the schedule for student-athlete service programs and handling expenses.
- Directing the activities of casual staff and submit time sheets for data processing.
- Creating and updating students records and processing academic conflict letters maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Keeping well-informed about student service programs across all three campuses and providing informed advice and guidance on athletic eligibility, as well as the integration and enhancement of student-athlete services.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Kinesiology or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum two years experience in student-athletes services, University sport programming or equivalent experience in a University or similar academic setting
- A solid understanding of Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and U SPORTS eligibility rules required
- Familiarity with University of Toronto academic rules, regulations, and student support resources on all 3 campuses
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse group of students and University colleagues
- Knowledge in the practical application of student development theory and academic learning strategies
- Good problem solving, multi-tasking and organization skills
- Demonstrated initiative and motivation and ability to maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced, diverse environment
Assets (Nonessential):
- Ontario College of Teachers certification is an asset.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 09 -- $67,916. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,855. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
