Specialist, Protection & Control
The Protection & Control Specialist will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our clients' electrical systems. This role requires a professional with excellent technical and communication skills, who specializes in the programming, testing, and verification of protection and control devices in the field, along with their integration with SCADA and RTU systems
What will you do as a Specialist, Protection & Control?
Perform field testing, programming, and verification of Intelligent Electronic Devices, including SEL, Siemens, ABB and GE.
Able to perform SCADA and RTU system integration.
Conduct Relay testing and protection scheme testing via secondary injections using Omicron three phase relay tester.
Create or modify single-line (EWD, CWD etc.) and three-line diagrams using AutoCAD.
Conduct thorough troubleshooting of protection and control circuits and systems.
Provide technical advice and support to clients and internal teams regarding protection philosophies and systems.
Able to assist with power system studies, including Load Flow, Short Circuit Analysis, Protective Device Coordination, and Arc Flash Studies, as a secondary responsibility.
Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure timely delivery and adherence to customer specifications and safety standards.
Prepare, review, and submit technical test reports and maintain precise documentation.

Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a 3-year Electrical Engineering Technology diploma with a focus on power systems.
Registered or eligible to register with OACETT or PEO
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in the protection and control field.
Strong understanding of industry standards and codes, including OESC, IEEE, and NETA.
Proficiency with test equipment like Omicron for secondary injection testing.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Valid Class G Driver’s License.
Willingness and ability to travel across Ontario.
