Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Accommodations,The Senior Property & Space Planner leads a team responsible for all space and accommodation needs for Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction (SARTR) and Technology and Innovation (TI). The Senior Property and Space Planner will perform these core functions:
Develop and Implement ministry policy and procedures for the nanagement of paking spaces for the ministry and the allocation of these across province.
Lead ministry short and long term accommodation planning,strategies, budgeting and delivery of accommodation services.
Represent the Ministry to ensure that facilities occupied by ministry staff are maintained to meet the operational requirement of the ministries program.
Consult with program areas to advise on process for acquiring furniture.
Facilitate projects that include furniture selections,acquisitions, installations as a part of accommodations project.
Supervise staff responsible for delivering strategic space and accommodation services.
Define, review and approve designs for new space and amend/renovate space.
Provide project management services to program areas with large furniture purchases combined with renovations/electrical/data/telecom work.

Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate team building through client and stakeholder interaction as well as the ability to recognize potential conflicts, opportunities and communicate them appropriately.
Strong organizational skills to deal with a multitude of competing requests for attention and funding.
Ability to communicate (oral or written) effectively with different levels of government.
The following will be considered as assets to this role:
Project Management Certificate 101 and 102.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AUTOCAD.
Experience interacting and working with senior leadership, Assistant Deputy Ministers, Deputy Ministers.
Experience working in strategic policy or legislation development.

Qualifications
University graduation in any of the following: Project Management, Urban planning, Architecture, Public Policy or a related degree, supplemented by at least four years of related experience or a equivalent as described below.Directly related experience or education considered based on:
1 year of experience for 1 year of education; or
1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
